Praia da Lagoinha do Leste
Praia da Lagoinha do Leste is a hidden beach surrounded by rocky hills and vegetation that can only be reached by boat from Armaçao and Pântano do Sul, or by trails leading around the headlands from Matadeiro or over the hill where the main road south turns along the back of the Pântano beach. Both ways to get there are very rewarding, with stunning views along the way. The beach itself is very picturesque, similar to Matadeiro but waters of the lagoon snaking back from the beach and the dunes behind make development impossible.
No permanent buildings exist here, and the beach is a fantastic escape for a day or many more. Trees amongst the dunes provide perfect shelter from the often chilly winds, and are perfect for sheltering tents. Sleeping within the sound of the crashing Atlantic waves is one of Go Floripa´s favourite in-active activities on the island.
Clear nights with a full moon rising from the dark ocean and reflecting on it are very special, and staying awake until dawn or waking up for it is just as impressive. You may look along the sands and out at the surf reflecting the golden sun and be amazed to have such an incredible natural scene all to yourself.
There may be more people than you expect camping within the vegetation though, and people will soon appear with boards to run straight into the strong surf of the morning. Praia da Lagoinha do Leste is one of the most relaxing places you can find on the island, and can feel a lot further than just an hour or two walk from the rest of Floripa civilisation.
